Jessica Wesley
NIHB Client Navigator
Hello, I'm Jessica Wesley, a proud member of Kashechewan First Nation, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as the NIHB Client Navigator for Mushkegowuk Council’s Health department. With a deep-rooted passion for improving health outcomes, I am eager to contribute to the well-being of Mushkegowuk individuals and communities in the Mushkegowuk region.
Â
Having spent the last 5 years working in the health industry, I have gained valuable experience collaborating with health professionals and navigating various aspects of healthcare. In my role as a NIHB Client Navigator, reporting to the Director of Health, I am dedicated to assisting Mushkegowuk individuals in navigating the complexities of the Non-Insured Health Benefits program. This includes providing support with related provincial programs and services, as well as fostering awareness within First Nation communities about the NIHB Program, existing health services, and jurisdictions.
Â
Born and raised in Kashechewan First Nation, I bring a unique perspective to my work, and my fluency in both Cree and English allows me to better understand and address the diverse needs and expressions of thoughts and feelings within Mushkegowuk communities. As a resident of Timmins, a place I consider my second home since attending high school, I am committed to utilizing my skills and experiences to enhance health services and overcome barriers faced by individuals seeking answers and support through the NIHB Program. I am excited to embark on this journey of making a positive impact on the health and well-being of the Mushkegowuk territory.
