In collaboration with Taykwa Tagamou Nation (TTN)’s health promoter and midwife, we are hosting a hybrid workshop in-person and virtually, highlighting various factors that contribute to women’s overall health. Topics covered in the workshop include:
Breast cancer information and screening and a self-examination demonstration
Cervical Cancer information and screening
Menstrual cycle phases and cycle syncing, becoming in tune with your body
Menstrual product education and the importance of hygiene
Exercise and cycle syncing
Birth control
Women’s health apps for cycle syncing and education (Flo, Natural Cycles)
Endometriosis and PMOS
Pre-menstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
The different phases of menopause and its implications on hormone fluctuation and health
Hormones and hair loss
Stress and the menstrual cycle
Women’s self-care strategies
Women’s nutrition, insulin sensitivity (PMOS)
The goal of the workshop is to educate women and the community on disease prevention, the importance of understanding hormone fluctuations, and recognizing all that encompasses women’s health. We hope to bring awareness to regular screening, healthy cycles, and connection to the body.
