WEEK 2: November 8 - 14

Diabetes: Type 2 diabetes affects First Nations people at higher rates, but it can often be prevented or delayed. Eating more traditional and whole foods, cutting back on sugary drinks, staying active, and getting your blood sugar checked regularly all help. Know the signs: feeling very thirsty, peeing often, feeling tired, and cuts that are slow to heal.

Photo challenge: Post a selfie of you and your Mo while you're out on the land: hunting, trapping, fishing, cutting wood, or just out for a walk. Don't forget to use the hashtag #MushkegowukMovember and tag us @MushHealth on Facebook or Instagram (image must be set to public)

Why it matters: Staying active and connected to the land is good for the body, mind and spirit. Time on the land builds strength, eases stress, and keeps us connected to each other and to our culture.

Weekly trivia: Diabetes. Quiz closes Saturday, November 14 at 11:59 PM.
