Louise Spence-Mohamed, Registered Psychotherapist

Louise Spence-Mohamed was born in Moose Factory, grew up in Fort Albany and is a member of the Constance Lake First Nation.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Nipissing University and is the owner of Okakeskimiwew Indigenous Counselling & Psychotherapy.

About Psychotherapy

A Registered Psychotherapist offers one-on-one talking sessions to help with various mental and emotional challenges, ranging from mild to severe conditions like anxiety, mood disorders, addiction, and anger management.

They use different therapeutic techniques including:

  • Acceptance and commitment therapy

  • Brief Narrative Therapy

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy CBT; and 

  • Trauma-Informed Therapy

  • Individual One-on-One Counselling

  • Couples Therapy

  • Group Therapy

  • Referrals

  • Screenings and Assessments

Louise offers:

  • Home Visits

  • Face-to-Face Sessions

  • Office Visits

  • Public Visits (confidential areas)

  • Virtual Visits via OTN and/or phone

Appointments are scheduled depending on client needs (weekly, biweekly or monthly).
