Our Services

Primary Care
We will accept appointments for non-urgent needs, which include:

pink eye or minor eye infections
-
ear pain
-
cough, cold, fever or sore throat
-
new rashes, skin irritations, or minor cuts and wounds
-
urinary symptoms like burning, urgency or frequent urination
-
stomach issues such as indigestion, diarrhea, or nausea
-
other new, non-urgent health conditions

Patient Advocacy and Navigation
Our team is here to reduce stress, answer questions, and support you through your journey while away from home.
Our team can help with:

Navigating health care during evacuation, including appointments, tests, and follow-up care
-
Communicating with doctors and health care staff on your behalf, including attending appointments or helping with questions
-
Helping with referrals and connecting you to hospitals, community, and Indigenous support services
-
Ensuring you and your family feel heard, involved, and supported in decisions about your care

Help with navigation of health benefits (vision, dental, pharmacy, counselling, medical supplies and more) -
Provide guidance on accessing available health benefits and services
Services are available in Cree.

We can also assist with translation.

When should I seek emergent care?
Emergency care is for serious or life-threatening conditions that need immediate medical attention such as:​

chest pain or signs of a heart attack
-
sudden weakness, facial drooping, or trouble speaking (possible stroke)
-
severe bleeding or major injury
-
loss of consciousness
-
foreign objects in the body
-
inability to breathe
-
head or spinal injury
-
severe abnormal pain
-
broken bones
-
poisoning and drug toxicity (overdose)
-
skin infections

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, call 911 or head to your nearest emergency department.

How to get your prescriptions refilled while you're away from home

Call the Timmins pharmacy you want to use. Click here to view a list of pharmacies in Timmins

phone number
-
the name and phone number of your home pharmacy (Moosonee Northern Pharmacy, 705-336-3391)

The Timmins pharmacy will contact your home pharmacy to transfer your prescriptions while you are away from home
-
You will receive a call when your medication is ready for pick-up

Katie Storring, Audiologist, from dB Hearing is available for appointments while you are in Timmins. She can help you with:

hearing tests

hearing aid evaluations
-
hearing aid cleanings and repairs
