On September 18, our Land-Based team, in partnership with Taykwa Tagamou Nation, wrapped up our Land-Based Aftercare Pilot Project, named Naatamawew: Supporting Each Other.
The pilot was hosted at Taykwa Tagamou Nation’s Veronica S. Archibald Kamik, a healing and cultural learning lodge at Wade Lake.

This powerful initiative brought together seven participants, all of whom completed and graduated from the 10-day pilot project. These participants we
re dedicated to their own healing journey and fully immersed in the program. Their feedback will play a key role in shaping the future of our Aftercare Program, expected to launch in 2026, pending funding.
Participants engaged in a wide range of healing and cultural activities, including Red Path Aftercare Training, traditional teachings such as pipe ceremonies, sweat lodge building and ceremonies, ribbon shirt/skirt making as well as on-the-land activities like moose calling, boat rides, fishing, and medicine picking.
This pilot project offered space for cultural connection, personal growth, and collective healing, laying the groundwork for a future aftercare program rooted in land and tradition.
